During this project, we were tasked with sketching two objects of our choosing that we would break down into minimalistic sub-geometrical components that would be used step by step to show how we created our drawings. The intentions of this project were to make us think about how we would create our sketches and show our creative process through multiple drawings. Proportion, construction, and light were fundamental parts to this project, as the ultimate goal was to understand space.
I chose a skateboard truck as I had a lot of familiarity with it as a skateboarder. I found the curves and geometries created by the different parts of the truck as well as the varying material textures would create a good challenge for me to tackle.
I have a serious addiction to sparkling water, so it felt fitting to draw the source of my bubbly dependency. Similar to the skateboard truck I felt very familiar with this, and I believed its intricate features would provide a good challenge for myself.
